2015: Race #1Minooka Park – Overall Winners – Girls Categories

Race #2 is almost here! Get ready for the all-new Hayward Hussle on Sun. Sept. 13, 2015 at Double OO Trailhead, Hayward, WI.

Racing action will start with the ladies at 10:30AM and boys racing will begin at 12:30PM. Come on out and help cheer these kids on!

RACE COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Get ready for the Hayward Hussle at Double OO Trailhead, a new race course for the 2015 season. Be prepared for rolling, wooded singletrack through glaciated terrain surrounded by the breath-taking early fall colors of northern Wisconsin. This course will entertain all ages of racers and make for an exciting finish! Course distance is approximately five miles.

RACE COURSE DETAILS

LAP LENGTH = 5 miles

Boys
Varsity – 4 laps = 20 miles
JV – 3 laps = 15 miles
Soph/Frosh – 2 laps = 10 miles
Middle School – 1 lap = 5 miles

Girls
Varsity/JV – 3 laps = 15 miles
Soph/Frosh – 2 laps = 10 miles
Middle School – 1 lap = 5 miles

RACE START TIMES:

Girls
Varsity/JV starts at 10:30AM
Soph/Frosh starts at 10:32AM
Middle School starts at 10:34AM

Boys
Varsity starts at 12:30PM
JV starts at 12:32PM
Soph/Frosh start at 12:34PM
Middle School starts at 12:36PM

Awards will be presented for each Race Category even if they start at the same time.

  • Last day to submit Category Changes

SUN. Sept. 6

  • Pit Zone closes at Midnight for Race #2 online registration. Race Day Registration will be available with a late fee.
  • Online registration and submission of waivers is available through Pit Zone.

Directions from Hayward:

From Hayward, Take Hwy 63 North towards Cable. You will drive about 12 miles to Seeley(before Cable). Once you get to Seeley, Turn Right on Double OO, and follow for 3 miles to the double OO Trailhead. It is very obvious.

RACE DETAILS AND IMPORTANT DEADLINES:

Pre-Ride Dates and Times:

Registered coaches and high school and middle school racers are able to pre-ride the course.

  • Sat. Sept. 12 from 1:00PM – 5:00PM. Last Rider on pre-ride by 4:15pm.
  • Sun. Sept. 13 (Race Day) from 8:00AM – 10:00AM. Last rider on pre-ride is 9:15am.

Petition for Category Changes:

Deadline Thurs. Sept. 3 by 10 pm. No petitions accepted after Thurs. Sept. 3 for the Sept. 13 race.

Online Registration – RECOMMENDED!

All riders need to be invited to register in the Pit Zone online before race day. Contact your Team Director to be invited. Independent riders contact your League Co-Director at kathy@wisconsinmtb.org.

STUDENT ATHLETES/RIDERS

– Please log onto the Pit Zone and ensure you are RACE READY.
Here is a Race Ready Checklist:

  • Pit Zone information entered.
  • WI League Fee and Race Fee paid.
  • Participation Waiver mailed, faxed or emailed (once per season)

NOTE: After Fri. Sept. 4, 2015, please do not mail in forms or waivers. Submit them to registration@nationalmtb.org or fax to: 510-779-5597.

IMPORTANT! – If you log onto Pit Zone and it shows you are not Race Ready, you must take care of these items before Sun. Sept. 6, 2015 in order to race on Sun. Sept. 13.

Pit Zone – Online Registration Closes:

Registering a racer on Pit Zone for Race #1 closes on Sun. Sept. 6, 2015 at Midnight.

On-Site or Day of Registration:

If you are unable to make the payments online in the Pit Zone before the deadline, we will have registration open at the race site. However, there will be a $10 late fee applied to NICA fees and a $10 race fee. Registration will be open on-site at the following dates and times:

  • Sat. Sept. 12 2:00PM – 5:00PM
  • Sun. Sept. 13 8:00AM – 9:30AM

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No gasoline generators inside the team pit area, please, and no open fires.
  • No dogs off leash please.
  • Please pack out what you pack in. Garbage receptacles are limited.

VOLUNTEER:

Join the Race Crew and volunteer at the race. Helping with scoring, handing out water, course marshal and the popular “sweep” position – all are important and we need 50-60 people to make these races work.

Suggestion: If your son or daughter is racing, volunteer to help when your child is not racing. Be a part of the excitement and still be able to watch your son or daughter race!

4. You will be taken to a different website where you can sign up to volunteer!
